MO State Fair

Kent, Debbie, Haley, and I decided to go to the MO State Fair on Thursday and Friday. We drove to Sedalia, MO and spent two nights in a hotel while we went to the fair each day. It was really fun. Midwest fairs are very different then the ones in the south. They are very big, and they have many more animals, shows, and farm equipment. Haley had a fabulous time! She is now totally in love with animals! We went to the petting zoo, and she was not afraid AT ALL to touch any animal. As you can see from the pictures, she even got a chance to feed some of them too! Here are a few pictures from our trip!

Goodbye Altus!

Well, due to a VERY small room, 105 degree weather, and a bored child, we decided to leave Altus, Oklahoma and go stay with Kelby's parents in Missouri. They had already said that if we needed a break that they would come get us so I called! It worked out well because they were already in Branson, Missouri on a trip so they just picked us up in Tulsa, Oklahoma. We hated to leave Kelby behind, but his flying starts this week which means his schedule gets very busy. He will drive up here to meet us in two and half weeks so it's not too much longer. We are having so much more fun in Missouri. Kelby grew up on a 1,000 acre farm so, needless to say, there is so much for Haley to do outside. She is loving playing in the pond, jumping off the diving board, riding four wheelers with me, and playing with Grandma and Grandpa. She brings me her shoes every morning so I will take her outside. I am enjoying being here as well. I love being in the country! Here are some pictures. We are headed to the MO State Fair tomorrow so I will have plenty of pictures to post when we return.

We are still in Altus, OK. We will be here until September. Haley and I have been trying to keep busy. We have been so happy that our friends Andrea and her little girl Ada have been here to keep us company this week. We have been taking many walks around the base, many trips to Wal-Mart just to get out of the room, outings to the park, and trips to the pool to keep cool. The weather is in the 100s every day so it gets pretty warm.

Haley is learning new words every day. Her favorite words right now are "hot" and "no." Of course "no" will be a favorite word for a while from what I hear. She will shake her head and say no when she does not want something, and she will nod her head when she does want something. More posts to come!

Let's Rope Some Cattle!

Haley just loved the rodeo!

At first, she was not sure about the cattle.

Last night we went to the Lawton, OK Rodeo. That was the first time Haley and I have every been to a rodeo. You would think this country girl would have been to a rodeo, but I have not. I used to go to horse shows all the time with my dad, but rodeos were not as popular. Haley LOVED the rodeo. She especially liked the horses. Her Granddaddy would have been proud. She actually sat still in her stroller for 45 minutes and watched the guys ride the bucking broncos. It was amazing! We cannot get her to sit still for 5 minutes, much less 45! Anyway, we had a lot of fun and are planning to go to the Atus Rodeo in a couple of weeks!

Update

Well, we have been one busy family. We left on July 31 for Kelby's family's house in Missouri. We drove 8 hours to Nashville the first day and 8 hours to Missouri the second day. Haley did ok with the drive. Can you feed a child too much? I believe we attempted to because every time she fussed, we just gave her a snack. It kept us both sane during the trip. We dropped Bailey and Samson off at Debbie and Kent's house and stayed a few days. Then, on Monday we started out on our 12 hour trip to Altus, OK where we will be staying for the month of August. Kelby is doing instructor pilot training, and we decided to come with him since he's been gone so much this year. We thought we would have a family friendly room, but just like the Air Force, plans changed. Even though Kelby had called in advance to reserve one, they still only fill on a "first come-first serve" basis so we are now in a small room with no stove, just a microwave and microfridge. We are on the list to get a family friendly room so pray that one comes open soon! The one good thing (other then being with Kelby) is that Altus has an awesome swimming pool! Haley loves the water slides. She even went down the adult slides with Kelby. We have not totally unpacked everything so once we do, I will have pictures to post. I hope everyone is doing well, and we look forward to being in Charleston again soon!
